Happy New Year and welcome back! Where does the idea of setting ourselves New Year's resolutions come from and what could we do this year?

Welcome Back! I hope you have all had a restful and relaxing festive holiday and are ready for the exciting challenges and opportunities that await in the Spring Term?

At our whole school assembly we looked at the origins of the idea of New Year's resolutions and found out that the Romans were particularly influential as they used to leave resolutions for their God Janus (the name given to the first month of the year: Jan-uary).

The children agreed that the biggest failing with resolutions is that we either set ourselves too many or we break them too quickly! We, therefore, thought about a 'list of LESS' - things that we could do LESS of and things that we could do MORE of.

Our list is below, so we are all going to give it a try! Happy New Year!
