The Art of Connection: Public Speaking and Active Listening

This course is designed to help students become confident and effective communicators. By focusing on the essential skills of public speaking, students will learn how to articulate their ideas clearly while forging meaningful connections with their audience. The course places a strong emphasis on listening for understanding, enabling students to respond thoughtfully and develop empathy through authentic communication.


Key Skills Covered:
• Effective Communication: Learning to craft compelling messages and deliver them with clarity, confidence, and impact.
• Active Listening: Developing the ability to truly understand others’ perspectives, fostering meaningful and thoughtful dialogue.
• Empathy: Building the capacity to relate to others’ emotions and experiences, creating deeper connections.
• Self-Awareness: Recognising personal strengths and areas for growth, building confidence and adaptability in communication.


Through practical activities, group discussions, and constructive feedback, students will develop the tools to speak with impact, listen with intention, and approach communication challenges with empathy and confidence.
