Worksop Music Concert Series

Run by the College for music-lovers across the region, this concert series is a non-profit venture that provides beautiful and inspiring music at an accessible cost.

Attracting artists from all over the UK and beyond, these concerts also feature home-grown talent from the school’s pupils and staff.

This year there are two professional lunchtime concerts included in this brochure which sit alongside the pupils’ regular Friday lunchtime concert slot; some evening concert times vary too, so do check the start times carefully!

This year’s programme continues the strong spirit of education married with quality and diversity. There will be much to marvel at, from the improvisation skills of John Lenehan as he injects vibrancy and spontaneity into the silent films projected just above our 9’ concert grand piano, to the hilarious all-singing-all-dancing musical comedy cabaret show of Graffiti Classics.

We are proud to continue our association with the world-renowned a cappella group, VOCES8, who’ve been inspiring pupils and audiences alike with their inventive programming and immaculate ensemble since our journey started with them twelve years ago.

There really is something for everyone and we look forward to seeing you in our audience soon.

Steve Love Band

For reasons beyond our control, this event has unfortunately had to be cancelled.

Following almost 18 months of restrictions, we are delighted to be able to host concerts at Worksop College once again. After so long without being able to welcome you here, we wanted to put on something which would entice as many parents, family and friends as possible back into College to enjoy the facilities, good food and, most importantly, to have a chance to socialise. With this in mind, our first event is in the Great Hall and includes a buffet dinner. Pupils may attend with their parents or guardians.

The Steve Love Band is well known for their brilliant covers of the best pop songs from the 60s to the 80s. Expect to hear songs by the Beatles, Snow Patrol and Queen. Our atmospheric Great Hall will be transformed into a candlelit café with a licensed cash bar. Groups of ten or more may reserve a table. (Each table usually seats ten people.) Advance booking only. Booking closes on Tuesday 5 October.
