Last term Miss Clifton submitted poems by Connie Futter and Amelia Chrispin to the Young Writers’ Poetry Escape competition.
Students were invited to explore the poetry maze, forge ideas and discover inspiration along the way.
Out of more than 8000 entries, Connie and Amelia’s poems were selected for publication.
Miss Clifton said:
“I am very proud of the girls' achievements and they should be too. Both girls completed the work in their own time and took the initiative to enter the competition themselves, as it was not compulsory for students, which I think is highly commendable.”
Within the next couple of months, the top five favourite poets will be announced and winners will receive £100, as well as further prizes for the winning schools - so watch this space!
Congratulations to Connie and Amelia!
