The Worksop College Girls' Football Academy (WCGFA) offers an elite football and academic programme for 16-18-year-olds, providing a unique opportunity to develop both on and off the pitch. With expert coaching, state-of-the-art facilities, and strong club partnerships, WCGFA is the ideal environment for players looking to take their game to the next level while receiving a high-quality education.

What is the offer? 

The WCGFA is committed to supporting talented female players on their football journey. We focus on developing technical skills, physical conditioning, and tactical understanding while providing academic support to ensure a dual-career pathway.

Our carefully structured programme includes:

  • 2x team sessions per week

  • 3x Strength & Conditioning sessions per week

  • 1x Tactical Analysis classroom session per week

  • 1x small group session (max 3 players) per week

  • Transport to and from training and games

Meet the Team 

Paul Wilkinson
Technical Director

A UEFA Pro licensed coach and former professional player with 196 league goals, Paul has over 20 years of coaching experience. He has worked with top players such as Michail Antonio and Aaron Ramsey.

Christian Beaumont
Head of Football

A UEFA-licensed coach with a degree in Sports Coaching, Christian oversees the WCGFA programme. An Old Worksopian and former Sheffield Wednesday Academy player, he is dedicated to holistic player development.

Harriet Talbot
Head of Strength & Conditioning

A former Oxford United player with a master’s degree in Strength & Conditioning, Harriet ensures players develop physically to meet the demands of elite women's football.

Eligibility and Admission
 

We accept 25-30 players per two-year cycle, based on footballing ability, physical literacy, and academic suitability. Both day and boarding options are available, and we welcome international students.

How to Apply

  1. Visit us – Take a tour and meet our Headteacher for an interview (or Skype interview if needed).

  2. Register – Submit your application with a £120 registration fee.

  3. School Testimonial – We will request a confidential testimonial from your current school.

  4. Offer & Acceptance – If successful, you will receive an offer and acceptance form.

  5. Confirmation – Upon receipt of your signed form and deposit, your place will be confirmed.

  6. Welcome Pack – Sent in May (for September starters) or immediately for in-year admissions.
