Guy Tweedy (Shirley 1976-79)

Disability campaigner Guy Tweedy spearheaded a movement for a public apology from Government to survivors of the thalidomide drug scandal. 

Fifty years on, in 2010, this was achieved - along with the promise of life-long financial support for surviving ‘thalidomiders’.
